VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is an advanced technology that allows users to make and receive standard voice calls directly over the 4G data network, rather than via traditional 2G or 3G networks. **The revolution:** Instead of forcing the mobile phone to switch to older networks, VoLTE digitises the voice and sends it as high-speed data packets over the 4G network. FAQ ## Frequently asked questions Getting started is easier than it looks. ### Do I need to change my SIM card or switch to an eSIM? No, not at all. The SIM and eSIM cards you currently have in use are 100% compatible, so they do not need to be replaced. ### Will there be an extra charge on my bill for making calls using these technologies? No. Both services are included free of charge in all our plans, both current and discontinued. You will only be charged for standard usage, such as international calls or special roaming charges, that are not covered by your current plan. ### Can I use the internet whilst on a call? Yes, that’s one of its key advantages. With VoLTE, voice calls are transmitted as data over the 4G network, allowing both voice and data to be used simultaneously at top speed, and with VoWiFi, both voice calls and data traffic travel simultaneously over the same Wi-Fi network. ### Do these services work if I travel outside Spain (roaming)? The VoLTE mobile calling service will be available abroad provided that the operator in the country you are visiting offers this service on its network. For legal and regulatory reasons, the VoWiFi service is restricted and can only be used within the UK. ### Which mobiles are compatible with VoLTE and VoWiFi? VoWiFi features will be automatically enabled once Samsung releases the update to One UI 9.0. - **Other manufacturers (Xiaomi, Oppo, Motorola, etc.): **These will become natively compatible over time as they incorporate Aire’s network settings into their regular software updates.
